My #1 goal is to level the playing field.
The new Detroit Public School District was created in June 2016 by the State Legislature, but because the deadlines had passed for participation in the August 2 Primary, school board candidates could not be included. Therefore, all sixty-three DPSCD of us were listed on the November ballot, a formidable challenge for our voters. While I was not fortunate enough to be among the seven who were elected, I send my most heartfelt best wishes to those who were chosen and stand ready to be of assistance, should you ever find anything I can do to help in the urgently needed transformation of the education of our children. In spite of the outcome, I found it an exhilarating, energizing and thrilling endeavor of which I was very proud and grateful - especially for the warm and enthusiastic reception I felt throughout the city. THANK YOU to everyone who stepped up to inspire, encourage, support, donate and vote for me - and especially to those who volunteered an incredible number of hours, days, weeks and months to the campaign of the wonderful A+TEAM! I appreciate you mightily, and trust me - I will never give up on our children. After all,
NOTHING MATTERS MORE!
As I'm sure you know, political campaigns are very expensive, so I must continue raising money to fund any campaign expenses that are not yet covered or were loaned from myself personally to the campaign. If you would like to contribute to that effort, I can not thank you enough from the bottom of my heart.
Aside from this endeavor, I continue to serve on numerous boards, campaigns, task groups and committees—especially those aimed at achieving the highest quality of public school education for ALL of Detroit’s children.
